Formerly called Dirty Pictures, Fire Studio designs and physically makes things. A lot of handmade posters for local and internationally known bands such as ranging from The Shins and Jay-Z, to DC bands playing their first gig at a neighborhood bar. All poster work is designed and screenprinted by Fire Studio. In addition to posters, Fire produces a variety of other design and illustration work.
Fire is manned by Anthony Dihle, who is a full-time designer living in DC. In addition to his own work, Anthony has curated several poster/print shows and actively serves on the DC-area board of AIGA, the professional association for design. Anthony also hosts workshops, and speaks about design and food on occasion.
A couple notes about this site—as of this writing it’s a work in progress, and will continue to be so for a while. Part of the reason I made the switch from a Flash-based site to WordPress is so I can include thoughts, notes, puns, process photos, alternate schemes, anything that helps describe a project beyond an image of the final piece. I’m leaving comments off but feel free to leave feedback on our Facebook page.
